Thank you for joining us for our fifth and final week of praying for the nations! What an honor it has been to join together as ONE BODY to pray for the least reached countries of the world. We are anxiously awaiting the return of the King (Revelation 5:9) and are continuing to pray first for a return TO the King of kings and the Lord of lords. May He receive all the glory as His Church comes together in unity to pray for the truth of the Gospel to be heard in the darkest of places (prayer points below).
Fear. Isolation. Poverty. Corruption. These were this country's anthem. Sin and unrighteousness had sunk roots deep in Nepal, casting out Christianity and promoting evil. Yet we, personally, saw the effects of a revival that was interrupting the enemy's plan.
During COVID, Nepal was hit with lock down and country paralysis. Fear was rampant and widespread. The people called out to their Hindu gods, they were swept up by terror. As the lock down continued, thousands were rendered jobless and were surviving in the midst of poverty.
It was here, in the midst of isolation and fear that a spark was lit. A dear friend of ours lived in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains and as the rest of the country fled to their idols and pagan worship, a different God began to be recognized and lifted up. This woman, led by the Lord, started to lead a house church, praising Jesus and asking for His light to be over her country. And the church grew. And grew. And grew. As it surpassed the number of people who could be gathered in one place during the pandemic, they planted another church. And another. And another. Watching with joy as more and more people banded together to worship, she said that as they kept growing, they just kept planting more and more churches.
This January we were able to go in person and see the impact that this one woman had during a nationwide lockdown. Our hearts were immediately knitted together with the people and we saw that even though they were from a different country, different people group, different language, we are still brothers and sisters united as ONE CHURCH. Throughout our time with this woman, we saw salvation, radical and miraculous healings, and people willing to risk it all to worship our one, true King.
We praise God for His work in calling His children in Nepal to Him. As He is working, the enemy is attacking. With a corrupt government seeking its own gain, laws are being passed to keep Christianity quiet. Persecution and imprisonment threaten Christians daily. Evangelism is outlawed and if accused of sharing their faith, they could land in jail. We know that the enemy is waging war on the people of God; we also believe wholeheartedly that nothing can compare to the mighty name of Jesus! Join with us as we pray for the light to conquer the darkness in Nepal. Interested in coming with us as we go this summer? Check out more info here.
